Beaches

The Yacht Club Beach in Cape Coral is situated directly on the Caloosahatchee River, this man made beach features a long stretch of white sand and some amazing views across the water.
It’s perfect for a family day with a number of outdoor activities and amenities as sports courts, fishing pier, a heated community swimming pool and a nice beachfront restaurant.

Only a 45 min drive away you will find the beautiful beaches of Sanibel Island and Captiva Island.
Sanibel is very popular with beachcombers. You will find an abundance of unique shells on its award-winning beaches. There are beaches close to amenities like Lighthouse Beach Park and beaches with fewer crowds like Blind Pass Beach and Turner Beach – something for everyone.
The public beach of Captiva Island – with its soft white sand and turquoise, crystal clear water - is perfect to relax and also ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving because of man-made reefs. Captiva Island is famous for its romantic sunsets.

Only half an hour drive south of Cape Coral is Fort Myers Beach. The 7 mile-long white beach is situated on Estero Island and perfect for families. It is one of the safest beaches in the world due to its gentle sloping shoreline. Here you will find a wide range of water sports. From the Fort Myers pier you have excellent views across the water and a perfect spot for bird watching!

South of Fort Myers Beach is the Lovers Key State Park. The Lovers Key Beach is one of the most remote beaches in the area. The beach is only accessible via the boardwalk. It can be really quiet there. But you can also rent kayaks, paddleboards or pedal boats. Boat tours and cruises are offered to sail around the island to watch local wildlife like manatees or dolphins.

You will find more beautiful beaches in Bonita Springs, Estero and Naples.

Nature Parks

Sirenia Vista Park
In western Cape Coral. This environmental park is a great place to enjoy kayaking, viewing manatees and birds, walking and fishing throughout the year.

Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve
At 365 acres, this is currently the largest preserved green space in Cape Coral. Located just north of Veteran’s Parkway, “Eco Park” features a 6600’ nature trail & boardwalk, two observation piers, a visitor center and a seasonal kayak rental operation (weeksends only, Nov – March, only for advanced). Visitors of any age can walk through the preserve on the boardwalk. Possible wildlife sightings include eagles, ibis, herons, other wading & migratory birds, raccoons, snakes, etc. Open year-round

Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park
The third-largest state park in Florida, Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park protects more than 100 miles of shoreline and more than 45,000 acres. Visitors can take advantage of opportunities to hike, fish, paddle and observe wildlife in the park's many natural communities, including mangrove forests, marshes, scrub habitats and pine flatwoods. Most of the park is shallow water fringed by mangroves, providing amazing opportunities to view wading birds, manatees, dolphins and other wildlife.
The park is best accessed by kayak or canoe. Portions of two paddle trail systems wind through the park. Hikers and bird-watchers can access Charlotte Harbor's upland areas at pedestrian walk-throughs available in each section of the park and explore the wildlife found along three marked trails.
The North Cape Flats Trail is among the most popular in the park. This trail travels through high marsh and pine flatwoods, emerging onto the Charlotte Harbor shoreline.

Estero Bay Preserve State Park
Visitors can access Estero Bay Preserve State Park via two convenient entrances. The Winkler Point access offers two observation points along the marshes and primitive trails through the maritime hammocks and coastal marshland. From the Estero River Scrub access, visitors can reach four trails that explore a variety of landscapes, including salt flats and mesic flatwoods. In total, the park has 12 miles of trails. Geocaches are plentiful in the preserve, offering an added bit of fun for those interested in the hunt.
Areas of mesic flatwoods, scrub and salt flats are home to gopher tortoises, snakes, lizards and a myriad of bird species.
Visitors can enjoy the preserve from land and, if interested, enjoy Estero River and Bay. Canoes and kayaks are available to rent at Koreshan State Park.

Everglades National Park
About 1.5 hours drive south of Cape Coral. Everglades National Park protects an unparalleled landscape that provides important habitat for numerous rare and endangered species like the manatee,  American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther. Explore the tropical wetlands of the Everglades with its variety of plants and bird species in an airboat, kayak or guided tram tour and watch the alligators sunbathing in the vegetation or on the shore.
